Situated on a 2 ½ hectare (6.2 acre) plot 5 km out of the coastal village of Port St. Johns, The Creek has been built to merge with the environment of tall shady trees and well maintained lawns and gardens. An indigenous forest/mountain setting is the backyard, and a small natural wetland is a neighbor.
There are no fences. Great for hiking and birding. Perfect to use as a central base to explore the "wildcoast". Ideal for just relaxing on the garden swing with a good book, or doing a traditional seafood braai with locally caught fish and crayfish (rock lobster).
Well suited for couples, families or large groups of friends. End the day with a cool and refreshing dip in our "swimming hole", a natural mountain stream pool just 5 minutes walk into the forest. All the accommodation is self-catering.
All of your basic food items can be purchased in the PSJ village. The Creek offers single and double rooms, two room cottages sleeping 4, and a large 3 bedroom house. All are solidly built brick and mortar units and are maintained to a very high standard. Pets are welcomed provided they don't disrupt the wildlife and are kept in check.
Let your host, Rod Haestier, a renowned marine wildlife photographer and experienced sea-going skipper, organize river cruises, deep-sea fishing, dolphin/whale watching, birding excursions both land and sea, and sardine run viewing.
